I laugh the loudest and work the quietest
A storyteller from Zutphen. I photograph the days people look back on most often: weddings and everyday life in people’s homes. Unposed, with lots of fun and minimal direction. I hardly give any direction and wait for the real moment to reveal itself. No one has to “perform” for the camera; just being yourself is enough.
Ik woon in Zutphen samen met man en kind, ben een gezelligheidsdier, ex-Brabander, eigenwijs en nooit helemaal volwassen geworden. Het leven zoals het gebeurt, dát leg ik vast: warm, een tikje stoer en met oog voor mensen.
When I'm not taking photos, I love enjoying music and all things Disney. Sometimes I channel my inner Avenger, but other times I'm just happily lazy (cape and all).
How I work
I don't believe in photoshoots where you spend the whole time wondering what to do with your hands. I believe in stories where afterwards you think: hey, that was actually just really fun.
Mijn manier van werken is simpel: ik pas me aan jou aan, niet andersom. Of je nu een bruidspaar bent dat zenuwachtig wakker wordt op jullie grote dag, een gezin met een peuter die absoluut geen zin heeft in foto's, of iemand die zichzelf altijd wat onhandig op foto’s vind staan; ik vind de manier om het mooiste naar boven te halen.
I blend into the background. I catch the look you miss. I press the shutter just when you're thinking about something else.
The result? Photos that feel like memories, not like staged shots.
